The Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED), the Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO), RSM McGladrey, Inc., and Saul Ewing LLP on May 21, 2007, announced the 18 finalists for the 7th annual Maryland Incubator Company of the Year Awards. The awards recognize the achievements of current and graduate companies within Maryland's incubators. Award Recipients from each of the six categories will be announced at a ceremony at the Center Club in Baltimore on June 19, 2007.

The finalists for the 2007 ICOY Awards come from all over the state and represent a diverse cross-section of technologies and services. "The entries for this year's Incubator Company of the Year Awards were very impressive," said Robert A. Spar, Esq., a partner at Saul Ewing. "From a company which has developed a breast cancer detection kit to a company developing a technology that allows a traveler to take a picture of a sign on his or her cell phone and get an immediate translation, this year's finalists reflect the breadth and depth of the technology being developed throughout the state. We are proud to once again be involved in this awards program that acknowledges the high quality of work and valuable contributions that incubator companies are making in Maryland."
